Grado Reference Series

Grao Reference Series

The Grado Reference range are high-performance, open backed headphones with the classic styling from the Grado labs. Originating in Brooklyn, New York, Grado are still a family run business that has remained in Brooklyn, and offer only the best quality headphones with very retro designs. The Reference stereo headphones range produce a sound that is pure Grado, full bodied vocals, excellent dynamics and ultra smooth top end. These truly are audiophiles dream headphones.

Grado RS1e

Grado Reference Series

The first thing you'll notice about the Grado Grado RS1e headphones is their stunning, retro wood style, it's something that set apart its older models - the RS1i and RS1 - too. The hand crafted real mahogany earpieces aren't just for show, however, because in typical Grado style, they serve a greater purpose. The new Grado Grado RS1e headphones utilise a different species of mahogany than previous models, with an intricate curing process that optimises tonal quality.

Alongside, Grado have outfitted the Grado RS1e with a 50mm dynamic transducer and class-leading 8 conductor cable design in an open air configuration. The result? A smooth, controlled and balanced sound that deals with even the most cluttered recording with bounce, poise and grace.

Frequency response on the Grado Grado RS1e headphones ranges from 12 to 30 KHz and the drivers are matched to 0.05dB. Put simply, the Grado Grado RS1e is a stunning member of the Grado collection.

  • Grado Grado RS1e headphones
  • Extension cable
  • 6.33mm (1/4") to 3.5mm mini adapter

Grado RS2e

Grado Reference Series

The Grado Grado RS2e might be the little brother of the RS1e, but that doesn't make them a slouch. Indeed, you're still getting the head turning mahogany construction of the RS1e's and much of the same internal design. Accordingly, the RS2E has a 44mm driver that uses Grado's new E Series 8 conductor open air cable design, which compliments the hand crafted mahogany to produce a sound that's rich, full bodied and free from unwanted resonances. That's a marked improvement over the older models, the RS2i and RS2.

Crucially, the Grado RS2e headphones still maintain that classic Grado sound, with warm harmonics, rich, full bodied vocals, unbeatable dynamics and an extremely smooth top end. Though they might be classified as a younger sibling, these headphones stand all on their own in their price class.
